Military Diversion

Military Diversion in Riverside

What Is Military Diversion?

Military Diversion is a special California court program (Penal Code 1001.80) that allows  eligible veterans and active-duty service members charged with certain misdemeanors to receive treatment instead of going through traditional prosecution.

Participants enter a structured plan involving counseling, therapy, substance abuse treatment, and other services that address the root causes of their behavior, often related to trauma, PTSD, or substance dependency. Successful completion of the program results in dismissal of the criminal charges, leaving the participant with a clean record.

At Greenberg, Greenberg & Kenyon, we are deeply committed to standing behind our veterans and those currently serving, advocating tirelessly on their behalf to help them access the Military Diversion program and move forward with their lives.

If you’re a military member or veteran arrested in Riverside, you may qualify for Military Diversion. Call (951) 574-2281 or contact us online for a free consultation.

Who Qualifies for Military Diversion?

Military Diversion is generally available to:

  • Active-duty service members and veterans from any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces.
  • Those facing misdemeanor charges, not felonies.
  • Individuals whose offenses are linked to a service-related condition such as
    • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
    • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
    • Substance abuse or dependency
    • Sexual trauma
    • Mental health challenges connected to military service

Since no two cases are alike, our defense attorneys at Greenberg, Greenberg & Kenyon personally review your background, service history, and current circumstances to determine your eligibility for this life-changing program.

Types of Offenses That May Qualify
