Philip Courtland Greenberg
About
Phil Greenberg was destined to be a lawyer having grown up around judges and lawyers telling stories of his father’s courtroom experiences. But while some never fill the big shoes such expectations create, Phil not only followed in his father’s footsteps, he exceeded every benchmark of success along the way.
Phil is a California native who spent his childhood in the community he now serves with both Riverside and Orange County roots. He played collegiate soccer at UC Davis where he majored in political science to prepare him for his inevitable path to study law. He went on to law school, where he focused on criminal law, evidence, and constitutional rights. Phil clerked for and was eventually hired as a prosecutor with the Riverside District Attorney's Office. This launched his career and helped shape him into the lawyer he is today.
Phil Greenberg's time at the DA’s office forged his skillset and built his reputation. He was quickly promoted from handling misdemeanors and DUIs to theft and property crimes, and he eventually advanced to the office’s elite specialized major crimes units. Phil was an active trial lawyer who handled child abuse, sexual assault, and gang crimes. His success earned state-level recognition, including the prestigious “Excellence in Public Safety Award.” Phil’s five-year tenure as a Deputy DA culminated in the high honors as Riverside County’s Felony Prosecutor of the Year in 2009.
In 2010, Phil joined his father and now anchors the premier criminal defense boutique of the Inland Empire as the firm's managing partner. Like his father before him, he now represents the accused by calling on his prior experience as a prosecutor and channeling his father’s shrewd style of negotiation. Phil regards every client, every case, and every charge as important and worth fighting for. Though Phil is now a seasoned veteran of the profession, he still approaches every legal challenge with the zealous ambition that has become the hallmark of Greenberg, Greenberg, and Kenyon.
